If you‘re like most brides, your must-play list is a very BIG deal to you.
You‘ve chosen every detail of your reception with care, from very obvious details such as your wedding dress, right down to the smaller ones, like place card holders and aisle runners. You believe that your music should reflect your personality, and WE COULDN’T AGREE MORE. Unfortunately, though, you’ll often find that your must-plays can have a negative impact on the amount of dancing at your reception. If keeping your guests dancing is important to you, you may want to consider these suggestions:
Pick your cocktail and dinner music selections, and leave the dancing portion up to your DJ. This is the best way to ensure that you hear the things you love, without having any impact on the dancing whatsoever. If that’s a little too extreme for you music-lovers, then how about…
Pick your cocktail and dinner music selections, and then no more than the following:
- 2-3 dance songs for a 4 hour reception
- Up to 10 dance songs for a 5-6 hour reception
If neither of those suggestions works for you, no problem! We’re committed to giving you exactly what you want at your reception. Just be sure to keep your expectations in check when it comes to dancing, as must-plays don’t give your DJ the opportunity to bail from something if it isn’t working.
